When you’ve got it, you’ve got it. And Friends. Mikaela Davis has it.
So it? IT isn’t really a thing. More of a totality. Mikaela is the music that she makes. She gives to her art. Bravely.
Prior to our shoot, I hadn’t experienced her work. Perhaps it’s better that way. Less expectation. We went to a park that was her childhood stomping ground. The light was spectacular. We made some beautiful imagery that night. Driving home I listened to the CD that she had given me. It was the first time that I had had a CD in my car’s CD Player (I owned it for over a year at that point). Pandora. Anyway. Listening to those tracks was like being in her company. Granted – that might seem obvious. …but to make something completely genuine is a gift. It’s brave and it’s bold. All-together beautiful.
